The IMM mission
Mediterranean Microbiology Institute
Pushing back the frontiers of microbiology: from fundamental understanding to innovative applications.
The Institut de Microbiologie de la Méditerranée is a Research Federation (FR3479 CNRS/AMU). Its laboratories and technological platforms explore microbiology at all scales, from molecule to ecosystem, and develop innovative solutions to meet major societal challenges. Our integrative approach enables us to better understand the complexity of microbial mechanisms and exploit their potential, whether in the fields of biotechnology, the environment or healthcare.
Our laboratories
The Institut de Microbiologie de la Méditerranée now comprises 4 research units.
Our platforms :
The Institut de Microbiologie de la Méditerranée comprises scientific and technical platforms located on the CNRS Joseph Aiguier campus.
IMM committed to sustainable development
Reducing the carbon impact of research activities is one of the priority objectives of the Institut de Microbiologie de la Méditerranée. As part of the GDR Labo 1point5 approach, the sustainable development coordinators of the federation and the 4 research units work together to encourage reflection and implement projects to make our practices more respectful of the environment and to promote biodiversity.
