The IMM laboratory in transition 1point5!
16 July 2025A few days ago the IMM’s Proteomics Platform hosted four students as part of the PLINIUS Cursus to introduce them to proteomic analysis using LC-MS/MS mass spectrometry.
During the three-day course, the students learned about the principles of mass spectrometry and proteomics in theory classes, and then got down to the practical side by processing their own samples.
After digesting the proteins into peptides and injecting them into the Q-Exactive Plus (Thermo Scientific) at the Plateforme Protéomique, the students were able to process their data directly by downloading free specific bioinformatics tools.
Satisfaction surveys showed that the students greatly appreciated the training and the opportunity to discover a new way of exploring the biological questions posed by their PhD subject.
For their part, the trainers, who are members of the Proteomics Platform, enjoyed sharing their expertise and discussing proteomics, mass spectrometry and the PhD subject with the students.
See you on next year!
