The IMM Imaging Core facility platform is a service open to the scientific community with two components: Optical Microscopy and Electron Microscopy.
The projects carried out at the facility come from IMM teams, other teams from the region and companies.
The biological systems analyzed are mainly bacteria, viruses, giant viruses, amoebae, microalgae, but also macromolecules etc.
More specifically, the methods used are Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM), fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (at room temperature or cryo) and scanning electron microscopy.
The platform is a member of the National Technological Networks (RCCM, SFμ, RTM-FM), participates in local and national training and applies a quality approach based on the ISO 9001 standard. It is labeled "Aix-Marseille Technology Platform".
The Scientific advisor is Pr. James Sturgis, the facility manager is Artemis Kosta, IR2, PhD and Hugo Le Guenno, AI, recently joined the platform.
